GIP is excited to announce the creation of Government Construction Partners (G-Con), a new GIP business unit focused on the management of all tenant improvement projects and will ultimately develop build to suit projects for governmental agencies. This business unit will be led by two commercial construction veterans in Dan Koob and Travis Wiersma who have successfully led a construction and development business since 2010. We are excited to bring this new element into our already diverse organization.
Travis Wiersma, based out of Chicago, is a Principal in the newly created entity, Government Construction Partners (GCon). GCon is the General Contracting/Project Management division of Government Investment Partners (GIP). Travis is also the Owner/Founder of Quincy Construction & Development, a commercial/office General Contractor/Construction Manager in the Chicagoland area, started in 2010. In addition to his role in GCon and Quincy, Travis serves as a real estate consultant for a nationwide 3PL company, overseeing leasing transactions and new development projects. Prior to Quincy, Mr. Wiersma was a Partner at Platford Corporation, a developer of multi-tenant, office/warehouse buildings. During Travis’ 20+ years in the construction and real estate industry, he has been involved in all aspects of projects: property searches, land purchases, entitlements, design, budgeting/estimating, project management and onsite project supervision. Travis Wiersma received his B.S. in Business Administration from Hope College in Holland, MI. He also holds an Illinois real estate license.
Dan Koob, based out of Chicago, is a Principal for Government Construction Partners (GCon). GCon is the General Contracting/Project Management division of Government Investment Partners (GIP). Mr. Koob is also the Director of Business Development and Project Management at Quincy Construction & Development, a commercial/office General Contractor/Construction Manager in the Chicagoland area. Mr. Koob has over 10 years’ experience in the construction industry where has performed multiple roles including project management, estimating, onsite project supervision, business development and specification writing. Mr. Koob received his B.G.S. degree from University of Kansas (Rock Chalk!)
Isabella McPherrin serves as our Office and Accounting Manager, focused on GIP’s accounting, HR, and day-to-day operations. Isabella’s passion for process improvement and organization drives the approach she uses to manage and streamline operations, which, in turn, supports our business structure and progressive team. Her strong professional background of 20+ years includes experience in office management, accounting, HR, and banking, in both private and non-profit sectors.
