Government Investment Partners hires Andrew Pulliam to lead acquisitions

Industry veteran brings more than two decades of experience within the government-leased real estate sector

CHICAGO — Government Investment Partners (GIP), a specialized real estate investment platform focused on essential government facilities, announced today that Andrew Pulliam has joined the firm as Executive Vice President, Acquisitions, and Principal.

Widely regarded as one of the most experienced acquisition professionals in the government real estate sector, Pulliam brings more than 20 years of experience sourcing, underwriting and executing investments across the asset class, most recently as head of acquisitions for the sector’s largest publicly traded REIT. In that role, he acquired more than $3 billion of government-occupied assets during his 15-year tenure.

In his new role, Pulliam will help lead GIP’s acquisition activities nationwide, working closely with Chief Investment Officer Bob Cottle and the rest of the firm’s leadership team to expand its investment pipeline and capitalize on the highly compelling market opportunity within the government-leased sector.

“Andrew’s decision to join GIP represents a significant milestone for our firm,” said GIP President and Managing Principal Kris Jankowski. “Few professionals have spent more time evaluating and acquiring government-leased real estate than Andrew. His experience, relationships and reputation are second to none, and his addition further strengthens our ability to execute on the attractive opportunity at hand in the market today.”

Founded in 2016, GIP has built a specialized platform focused on acquiring, developing and managing properties leased to federal, state and local government agencies. The firm has assembled a vertically integrated platform encompassing acquisitions, asset management, property management, construction services and development—all with a particular focus on facilities that support essential government functions.

Pulliam joins GIP at a time when many investors are reassessing exposure to other assets classes while seeking durable income streams backed by long-term tenancy. Within the government-leased sector, higher interest rates, reduced competition and capital market dislocation have created acquisition opportunities that many industry participants believe have not been available in nearly a decade.

“Government-leased real estate remains one of the most differentiated and resilient segments of the commercial real estate market,” Pulliam said. “GIP has built a highly specialized platform with the expertise and operational capabilities necessary to capitalize on the opportunities emerging today. I’m excited to join the team and help accelerate the firm’s next phase of growth.”
